I am a mathematician whose favorite hobby is art. I love drawing people and painting both in oils and watercolors. Over the past ten years, I have also moved into photography and editing works on the computer. I have been fascinated with tessellations since college and in 2013 decided to try to use them as a way to combine mathematics and art.

This is part of a series of fish tessellations I began in 2013. I used paper-cut methods and computer manipulation to create my tile. To add interest to the tile, I watercolor painted my primary tile. I then used computer software to vary the color of that basic tile and create the pattern.
