Each design is based on a single word in Arabic square kufic script that is being repeated in four directions to make a tiling. The words are among the ninety-nine names of God in Islamic theology. The square kufic script is an ancient form of writing that is based on right angles. The resulting geometrical designs not only visually captivating but they are also readable.
