Among the themes that have been paramount to me as an artist are paradox and self contradiction. This submission is central to that idea, I think. This photograph depicts a Necker Cube of light projected onto the surface of a level two stellation of an icosahedron made of aluminum screen. The screen material allows photons of the Necker Cube projection to pass through the empty spaces in the object and hit the inside strands of the “back side” of the screen object. The resulting illusion of the Necker Cube, which is already self-contradicting, is then doubled, the “front-and-rear" Necker Cubes appear to be sharing a common edge The icosahedron and the Necker Cube also hint at 4th dimensional themes.
