As an artist I'm especially interested in color, form and the
interaction of the two.
In my profession as a Color Designer in Architecture I'm working in a
big scale. To work with the tiny little glass beads offers a
completely different dimension.
To be part of the international beadwork project 'Contemporary
Geometric Beadwork', is a great honor and opened a new world.
In my artwork I have the combination of brain, heart and hand which is very important for me.
The Kaledocycle, a glass and thread version of a Bricard Linkage,
was popularized by mathematician Doris Schattschneider and graphic
artist Wallace Walker in the 1970s, when they converted
tesselations by M.C. Escher into origami turning toys based on
Raoul Bricard's chain of tetrahedra.

The figurine is made of seven hyperbolic paraboloids in different sizes, following the Fibonacci sequence. It can be folded in different ways: it becomes almost flat folded vertically and 3D if folded horizontaly. It is beaded in peyote stitch, handmade by the Artist.
