We enjoy working together on interdisciplinary art projects with strong mathematical foundations. The idea to make this pixelated jigsaw image of Bob Bosch evolved slowly over a long period of designing dissection algorithms and warping functions, and trying various subject matter experiments.

This jigsaw puzzle consists of 64 laser-cut wooden pieces. The holes in the pieces create a low-resolution image of Bob Bosch. The design of the parts is based on a square grid that has been morphed so that each (x,y) point P has been transformed to a new location P' = P/(1+|P|), warping the underlying square grid to a curved outline.
