Marijana Paunović
Author researches in the field of applied geometry in visual arts,
focused on 3D anamorphosis and use of constructive,
optical-physiological and artistic perspective, as well as the
application of geometrical optics and its visual effects. Since 2007
graduating from the Faculty of Applied Arts, University of Arts in
Belgrade in 2007 Marijana has been teaching there (first as an
assistant tutor and than from 2014 as a assistant professor). She
researched and defended her PhD "Geometrical 3D models and methods of
anamorphoses construction with the application in visual arts" at the
Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade.
The inspiration for this work was the construction of an ellipse
with two concentric circles. The illusion of space that I like
when I draw this construction led me to the idea of making a model
where parallel and orthogonal lines create visual conics. The
symmetry of the composition emphasized the symmetry of the curve
and directed the visual dynamics towards the center.
