Statement

Human civilization exists before and after me. What is my mission? What are we leaving behind? I am not necessarily looking for an answer or an explanation. Knowledge in itself has no value if it comes to human happiness, what matters is: how do we use it? Nietzsche and Descartes have left our Western society with the idea that we humans only have a right to exist as thinking scientists. But humans are sensing creatures in the first place. That ability of sensing resulted in wonder about life, nature and the universe which we expressed, and still express, in art and spirituality. If we declare those two dead, then science remains. Does knowledge make us happy if it is at the expense of the amazement of the sensing human being?

This artwork elaborates on the idea of the trefoil knot. It is a selection of 24 self-intersecting polygons on a grid of 4 by 4 coordinates. These continuous lines get a three-dimensional character by repeating the polygon in perspective. The fading colour green emphasize the effect of a time lapse.
