Statement

I am Jiayang Lin, a master student of architecture, I am addicted to exploring the field of numbers and geometry, it brings me a lot of fun, I think mathematics is an excellent way to create beautiful spaces, creative space architecture, I have a broad range of interests, I hope to learn as much as I can about interdisciplinary knowledge, and hopes to apply knowledge from different fields to architectural design, in order to form a creative and aesthetic space. The authors of the following works are Jiayang Lin, Shen Guan Shih, Bih-Yaw Jin, ChangYu Chou.

Bugle beads and fishing line

Our main finding is that the use of stringing bugle beads is a means of creating auxetic structures based on the deltahedron that can extend to infinity in both horizontal and vertical directions. We use the Auxetic structure plane configuration of positive triangles and map it to a triangular polyhedral structure in three dimensions by choosing a combination of tetrahedra and octahedra.Due to the fact that the tetrahedron and octahedron can complement each other during compression of the auxetic structure, the densest structure based on the convex polyhedron having the same edge length is formed when it is fully compressed. We used bugle beads of equal length and 3cm in length. The different colours are to show how they are constructed.
