Statement

I'm a Ph.D. student in chemistry under the guidance of Professor Bih-Yaw Jin. I'm drawn to the geometry of graphitic structures, especially carbon nanotubes. My advisor, Bih-Yaw Jin, has found a way to create 3D models of fullerenes using beads and strings through mathematical beading. What's fascinating is that I can use mathematical beading to represent the spatial curves of carbon nanotube structures. This approach offers a unique and visually engaging perspective, inviting you to explore the world of chemistry and nanotechnology with us.

Utilizing the approach detailed in the paper "Orderly Branched Tangles Based on Carbon Nanotube Inspired by Grossman’s Sculptures," published in Bridges 2022, we've crafted a beaded interpretation of Bathsheba Grossman's sculptural designs. This portrayal of the Metatrino molecular structure has been materialized through the application of mathematical beading.
