Statement

I have been interested in sciences almost as long as I have been involved in the visual arts, that is all my adult life. The engravings of Escher have been my gateway to the world of Mathematics and, using the medium of classical oil painting, I hope to continue a tradition of mathematically inspired work started by Renaissance painters.

Mathematical Game board

28 x 28 inches

Oil paint on canvas

2012

The design of the game board is suggested by the Archimedean spiral, divided in 62 spaces. It is played by two or more competitors and two dice. In the spaces are images relating to the History of Mathematics, in chronological order. As usual in this type of game, some spaces will bring you forward and others back, while the winner is the first to reach the stars.
