Statement

As a mathematician and an artist, I play with fascinating, surprising, and delightful questions and ideas. As a math teacher and a blogger, I try to show off the wonders of the mathematical world. And in creating short films, I do a little of both.

The phrase "scary-o'-graphic projection" popped into my head during an evening jog on Halloween two years ago. This spooky wordplay gave me visions of using jack-o'-lanterns to share the charms of stereographic projection. The idea haunted the back of my mind for the next year, and this short film is the result. I hope it conveys the power that mathematics gives us to enchant ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
