Statement
I am Anita Chowdry, visual artist and polymath, with a London based practice. My work is about ART AND SCIENCE, involving concepts from mathematics, geometry and the structures and designs found in natural phenomena. I also research colour and pigments derived from natural mineral and organic substances, and their historical use in illuminated and illustrated manuscripts. I work in two and three dimensions. I use a variety of media and practices, including metalwork, etching, drawing and illumination techniques. My work is generally project-based, and finished outcomes are supported by a body of underlying research and conceptual thinking.
