Statement
I am interested in extending the aesethtic of traditional art by using computing method, and Dali is my most favorite artist from my childhood, I have collected almost all of his superrealism painting works in digital files, sometime I wandering how could superrealism art be in a digital era, so I tried to create this works. I hope it could bring much stronger aesthetic experience of superrealism painting to the people when they are interacting with it. DaliAtomatica is a Virtual Reality space constructed using Dali’s superrealism painting works,
elements in the almost all of Dali’s superrealism painting works was extracted and recomposited
into a virtual space that people could deep into it and walk through, just as if they are walking
in a Dali’s world. The composition of this Virtual Reality space is based on the exponential
transform grid, user will find they are keeping zoom in into a infinity seamless painting world
of Dali. This works extends Dali’s still and 2 dimensional superrealism painting works into an
interactive, multi-dimensional and dynamic formation.
