Statement
As a Mathematics student I was always fascinated with the visual and artistic representation of mathematical ideas. I always try to find the hidden mathematics in an artwork, or integrate it into my work so as to achieve an interesting piece of work or a better understanding of the mathematical principles. I am fascinated by both plastic as well as digital art.

Three crocheted spirals
20x60 cm
Crocheted wool yarn
2014
This work features three crocheted spirals. The smallest one is a simple composition of two Archimedean spirals (r = θ). The bigger one is a composition of two double Archimedean spirals (r = ±θ). The biggest one is an approximation of four logarithmic spirals (r = a^θ) using right angle triangles stitched together.
