Statement

I use hardback novels to construct my folded book sculptures because the deckled edges on the pages suggest that care was given in choosing that paper to honor the author of the story. Quality of materials is important to me. Sculptures are created by matching incremental points on an edge of the pages to a common point, the focus. The collection of folds forms an envelope to the parabola. The grouping of folds also shapes arch-curves that spring forward as the book is opened. .
