Statement

As a sculptor of constructive geometric forms, my work deals with patterns and relationships derived from classical ideals of balance and symmetry. Mathematical yet organic, these abstract forms invite the viewer to partake of the geometric aesthetic.

Laser-cut wood (stained) and cable ties

2018

Arizona is a construction of sixty pieces of laser-cut Baltic Birch plywood, arranged in pairs in thirty planes---the extended planes of the faces of a rhombic triacontahedron. Inspired by desert views, lizards, sand dunes, and native American designs, it is stained in three colors. The version submitted for the art exhibition is a prototype model of a larger version to be installed at the University of Arizona in Tuscon.
