Statement
Breaking the two and three dimensional fields of traditional art into the fourth dimension is a primary drive in my creative process. Infusing these fields with aesthetic resonance is the goal. Expression, abstraction, representation and spatialism converge in my work through meditative explorations of perspective, color and structure. I aim to build physical and visual stimuli into multi sensory experiences that lead the viewer to a state of reflection and pause. My work navigates the contemporary landscape establishing platforms from which to gain a new perspective.
Artworks
I'm a Painter and Sculptor based in Den Haag, Netherlands. My work revolves around ideas of process and emergence. I work with and design CNC machinery like plotters and 3d printers in my art process to aid in the development of my work. The Tetrahedron is the most simple Platonic form and for me it is a visual symbol of emergence. A Tetrahedron is an object with 4 points. 2 points define a line, 3 points define a plane, 4 points define a volumetric space. Stacking Tetrahedrons create a Tetrahelix. A visual symbol of Infinity. A tetrahelix has a relationship to the number pi as a single unit of the helix (tetrahedron) never repeats in orientation to another so the Tetrahelix will never loop. I explore this form in a sense to find infinity.
