Statement

My film contribution "a kind of hope" is first and foremost an entertainment film that should also be attractive to lay people. That is why the film is conceived as a pure art or entertainment film. The first half of the film is dedicated to a fractal called Pseudo Kleinian. I use here the original, so far hardly studied hybrid description, which (2011) was replaced by a stand alone formula very quickly after its discovery. My observations are mainly based on geometric considerations which I have summarised behind the links and illustrated them with pictures and parameters. www.imaginary.org/gallery/hybrid-pseudo-kleinian and www.imaginary.org/gallery/the-mandelbox-an-artistic-and-geometric-journey I paid some attention to the integration of the music, a composition by Scott Buckley (www.scottbuckley.com.au) whose name I adopted for the whole film: a kind of hope. The aim was to create a choreography of images and music that is both descriptive and artistically appealing.

The first part of the film is dedicated to a fractal called Pseudo Kleinian. I have been working intensively with this fractal in its hybrid description since 2020. The film shows a selection of five clips of this fractal. The part is concluded by a visualisation of the very basic structure, which builds up iteratively step by step. The clips in the second part are only chosen for aesthetic reasons and deliberately lead to a long final shot with slowly changing organic forms, which are implemented here by a formula called AmazingSurface, a system derived from the Mandelbox.
