Statement

Lately, I have been moving to a combination of more organic and natural forms with mathematical ones. Starting from the study of antique art and, more specifically, Greek and roman sculptures, I deconstructed and used part of original sculptures as inspiration for models created by using generative design and lattice structures. Using generative design and changing process parameters, lattice structures can be created with a model or a three-dimensional pattern repeated to fill a volume. In my exploration, I try to balance the internal and external space of the sculpture by cutting and removing some areas to visualize the internal structure.

Additional info

In the sculpture Adam’s Hand, I used a simple beam X as a lattice structure to fill the internal void. This reinforces the sculpture and creates an interesting relationship between interior space and external skin. Part of the model was spirally cut to open the sculpture and to create this movement that ends with the index finger, ready to receive the "divine breath of life by touching God's finger. A base in alabaster was added to easily support the sculpture.
