Statement

My art work aims to explore and explain concepts in mathematics. I'm particularly interested in continuous variation of structure, in various contexts. For example, continuous variation of origami crease patterns, or continuous variation of the iterative process of creating a fractal, or of artistic expressions of families of elliptic curves. My main mediums of artistic expression are currently origami and digital art produced with WebGL and Javascript.

Additional info

This is an illustration of four fractal dragon curves, and their gradual iterative construction, achieved via a hinged Truchet tiling construction. The art work is unique in combining the three concepts of Truchet tiling, hinged tiling, and fractal dragon curves. Each infinite sequence of 0s and 1s will give a different fractal dragon curve. The curves here correspond to the sequences 11001100..., 100100100..., 00000..., and 101010..., from left to right respectively. This is an accompaniment to my Bridges 2023 article.
