Statement

My work 'Hyperstar II' is inspired by hyperbolic geometry, tessellations, and infinity. Utilizing parametric design software and a CNC milling machine, I create art that captures the interlocking shapes and intricate patterns of mathematical concepts. My goal is to create works that showcase the beauty of symmetry, proportion, and harmony while also inspiring deeper contemplation of the relationship between mathematics and art.

'Hyperstar II' is an intricately carved wooden artwork, finished with a gel stain and adorned with lapis lazuli and purpurite powdered stone inlay. The center of the artwork features an eightfold star embellished with 24k gold leaf. The piece was created in 2022 as part of a series exploring fractals. The artwork showcases the precision and complexity of fractal geometry while utilizing high-quality materials and finishes for a refined aesthetic.
