Biography

This piece is dedicated to elementary math teachers. B+E+L+T is a wearable, kinesthetic teaching aid for the commutative property of addition. Each piece can be arranged in any order, and still add to the same sum, the desired waist-measurement. The piece is unique in having multiple buckles and colors, rather than one. B+E+L+T is made with polypropylene straps, and center-release buckles.

Polypropylene straps and center-release buckles

This work is dedicated to childhood teachers. My goal was to make a kinesthetic tool to be used in teaching mathematical principals. B+E+L+T represents the commutative property of addition. The straps of all different lengths can be arranged in any order and still equal the same sum. The sum is the wearer's waist-length measurement. This piece is especially unique because you can assemble the belt in any order or color-way desired, and it has multiple buckles instead of just one.
