Statement

I am a Visiting Assistant Professor at Harvey Mudd College, and I am interested in illustrating beautiful ideas in mathematics both digitally and by exploring new tools and media our college's Makerspace. I'm most interested in intricate structures that emerge by following simple rules, and by exploring what is possible under given constraints.

Additional info

This piece was inspired by a tweet by Matt Henderson, which showed a Koch snowflake-like fractal emerge from the simple rules of placing a point inside of a hexagon, forming a triangle with that point and a random side of the triangle, drawing the point at the center of the triangle, and repeating. This piece explores what fractals are formed when various triangle centers are chosen, inspired by Clark Kimberling's Encyclopedia of Triangle Centers.
