Statement
Through my art I make visible the beauty and wonder I see in the often abstract world of mathematics. I enjoy giving visual representations to mathematical concepts such as number, form, and process. I often use patterns that convey messages at multiple levels and scales using a wide variety of mathematical elements and media. Some of my work contains fine detail that allows the art to be viewed differently depending on the distance between the viewer and the art. Another prevalent theme in my work is symmetry, where the overall pattern is created by repeated rotation or translation of a smaller very similar units.

The positive integers placed along a continuous curve forms the common symbol for infinity. As the curve progresses, the size of the digits gets increasingly small and ultimately exceeds the resolution limits of the image. A background field of smaller infinity symbols contributes to the overall theme of infinity.
A flurry of snowflakes swirl in this homage to winter. Each snowflake is created using a random process and are packed within the image using a bespoke packing algorithm so that no snowflake intersects another. In the early 1600s, Johannes Kepler pondered the six-fold symmetry of snowflakes while walking in the falling snow. It wasn't until hundreds of years later that scientists began to understand the nature of frozen water crystals that leads to their beautiful structure.
