Statement

The focus of my exploration is to illustrate geometric and irregular shapes, and the patterns created by their repetition. Patterns, formed by mirror or rotational symmetry, can be found abundantly in nature and in human creations. Symmetry is a shared concept in mathematics and art. Our brains inadvertently seek out symmetry everywhere because symmetrical compositions are aesthetically pleasing.

The playful juxtapositions and the interactions of geometric and organic shapes and the vivid colors illustrate celebration, a joyful moment in life. The application of symmetry, rotation, and repetition of the design elements creates a dynamic composition. The broad spectrum of vivid colors symbolizes hope and happiness. The geometric designs, made of rectangle, circle, and square shapes, represent man-made creations. Shows an inseparable bond between humankind and nature.
