Biography

I look for ways to move the designs I create out of the computer and into my hands. Creating scarves allows me to take the works with and see how they interact with the world. Recently I have been exploring Truchet tiles as 3D printed pieces, as custom fonts, and by creating an application where I explore adjusting many different parameters of hexagon and square Truchet tiling. Each change or experiment inspires me to explore another dimension.

All scarves are variations of hexagon Truchet tiles. Most notable about the gradient scarves is that the design software identifies the loops created by the arcs in the tiles and can specify the color of the entire loop. The color selection is based on the centroid of the loop. For the spectrum gradient scarves, the color is chosen from a color wheel.
