Biography

I was born with restless hands and a mind that tends to strong obsessions. My hands help me understand mathematical ideas by making objects. Using these ma(th)nipulatives, I explain these ideas to whoever wants to listen, and enjoy equally the questions and the aha moments that sparkle. I am sequentially monogamous in my obsessions: I went from origami to knitting, from knitting to crochet, and from crochet to looping wire. Looping wire, a technique used by the sculptor Ruth Asawa, is a wonderful medium to understand how surfaces can be immersed in our three-dimensional world.
