Statement

Art can be a fun way to explore different realities. I enjoy creating works that explore and celebrate the beautiful patterns and symmetry found all around us. Transforming abstract mathematical concepts into tangible forms, such as spiraling and knotted glass sculptures, reveals the intriguing connections that arise when art and mathematics come together.

"Hexastix Knot 4,24" is an intricate glass knot created using a hexastix arrangement, one of the six invariant cubic rod packings. This sculpture welds together 28 clear glass rods, connecting them with four twists and 24 half-loops to form a continuous embedded knot. The transparency of the glass illuminates the knot’s internal symmetry and the subtle complexities of its continuous path, allowing light to dance within and highlight the geometric beauty of the structure.
