Statement

I explore topics in mathematics, often with software tools I create to accelerate the process. I gravitate towards topics that allow me to create physical objects. There is a unique exhilaration that comes from interacting with pieces created during this process. I find inspiration everywhere. In 2017, a visit to the Smithsonian inspired me to explore symmetry and tessellations. I created Polygonia.design, a collection of vector-based graphic design tools.

A collection of 3D printed constructions assembled from Truchet tiles of parallel arcs and lines. The arcs and lines are elevated, that is, placed at a z > 0 position, according to the distance from the edge of the tile.

Three concentric octahedron truncated so that the remaining faces are hexagons. The square faces are omitted. The hexagon faces are laser cut with patterns of increasing complexity from the outer to the inner layer.
