Statement

I am a Bioengineering major from Montgomery College exploring how light, form, and mathematics can intersect to create spiritual and visual harmony. My 3D-printed works transform 3D geometry into 2D shadows, revealing intricate Islamic geometric patterns when illuminated. Using Fusion360 and BambuLab 3D printers, I hope my work can introduce others to beautiful geometric artwork in an exciting new form.

Additional info

These pieces use the medium of 3D printing to transform light into geometry coming from traditional Islamic tessellations and tiling. They were modeled originally from simple spheres, then carved out to, when light is shown at them, cast precise shadow patterns beneath them. The patterns projected come in different categories of Islamic geometric patterns, allowing exposure to the full breadth of beauty in these patterns. This is all to explore how form, light, and structure can interact to turn a solid object into a moment when technology meets sacred design.
