Statement

We as humans are all unique and all have different stories with different settings, climaxes, high rises, and deep falls. Throughout history, the arts have always remained constant. Art cannot be destroyed by war or torn apart from debates of differing opinions. We all can share and express a deep connection with the arts, but the purpose of my work is not only to a showcase human resilience itself but to also be a beacon of hope for future generations.

This work features a new variation of a fractal known as an n-flake. An n-flake begins with a regular n-sided polygon. On the inside of each vertex, a similar polygon is attached so that the new polygons at adjacent vertices of the original intersect but do not overlap. The n-flake is the fractal obtained by repeating this motif on each new polygon. Steven Wilkinson extended this idea by rotating each new polygon a fixed angle from its parent polygon. This work combines digitally generated rotated n-flakes and acrylics to illustrate the patterns and beauty found in fractal images.
