Stella octangula by double dissected pentachoron by Josep Tarrés and Carlos Luna. The pentachoron (5-cell, 4-simplex) can be shown as a regular tetrahedron by adding a fifth vertex at the centroid tetrahedron with its edges to the other vertexes. The dissected pentachoron proposal comes from of its partitioning in 2 equal polyhedral forms made of 2 tetrahedrons. Each one, a dissected pentachoron, is inscribed by a tetrahedron. Then, we can merge 2 dissected pentachoron, with the same tetrahedron centroid: we obtain a polyhedron called “stella octangula by double dissected pentachoron”. There are 4 different: they can be seen as artworks. One of them, it is shown in the picture above.
