Statement

I construct Polyhedral Shapes in Wood, Paper and Metal. I find working wood and metal to construct these shapes to be a challenge both Mathematically and Practically.

The base object is a "Rhombicosidodecahedron" which consists of 12 Pentagons, 30 Squares and 20 Triangles. Each Pentagon is inlayed with a Square and a Circle. Each Squares is inlayed with a Pentagon and a Circle. Each Triangle is inlayed with a Triangle and a Circle. The Object is approx. 10" in diameter and has a wall thickness of .625". The base pentagons are mitered at 15.8785 degrees. The Squares are mitered alternatively at 15.8785 degrees and 10.4526 degrees. The Triangles are all mitered at 10.4526 degrees. Too about 20 hours of work to build.

A "Rhombicosidodecahedron" in Spherical Form. Consisting of 12 Spherical Pentagons, 30 Spherical Squares and 20 Spherical Triangles. Once constructed each component was inlayed with a circle.
