Statement
I'm a Ph.D. student in chemistry under the guidance of Professor Bih-Yaw Jin. I'm drawn to the geometry of graphitic structures, especially carbon nanotubes. My advisor, Bih-Yaw Jin, has found a way to create 3D models of fullerenes using beads and strings through mathematical beading. What's fascinating is that I can use mathematical beading to represent the spatial curves of carbon nanotube structures. This approach offers a unique and visually engaging perspective, inviting you to explore the world of chemistry and nanotechnology with us.

During the 'Molecular Aesthetics' course in the fall of 2023, a student named Xuan-Yun Wu designed an S-shaped curve linked with a torus, creating an illusion of the "infinity" symbol when projected at a certain angle. Captivated by this elegant figure, I endeavored to recreate its form using molecular building blocks. By precisely arranging different combinations of heptagons and pentagons, I guided carbon nanotubes (CNTs) into shapes evocative of Wu's design. To bring this concept into a tangible three-dimensional form, I meticulously strung beads along the CNT structures, constructing physical models based on the design. Consequently, each of us crafted an artwork in a distinct color palette, and mine was aptly named "Beadfinity."
