Statement

I'm Radmila Sazdanovic, navigating the realms of Mathematics at NC University and expressing my creativity as a conceptual artist. My expertise lies in low-dimensional and applied topology, and I am passionate about the open science initiative. In the immersive world of Tess-Celestial, created during an Immersive Scholar residency at NC State libraries, we've woven a tapestry of large-scale displays, exhibitions, interactive web apps, and 3-dimensional prints. Each piece offers a dynamic encounter, ensuring that every interaction with the blend of art and mathematics is a one-of-a-kind journey. From the USA, to Edinburgh to San Sebastian, my art has graced international stages, inviting diverse audiences into this unique fusion.

Additional info

As a mathematician and artist, I prioritize the conceptual essence of a piece over its chosen medium. Nevertheless, I value the versatility and the impact that the chosen medium has on the perception and experience of the idea. This becomes crucial when utilizing visualizations for teaching or communicating mathematics, catering to visually impaired audiences or those who prefer tactile experiences. Caught in a 3D Dual Net, contains (3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3) combined with a tessellation with (6,6,6), revealing a new tessellation (6, 6, 7) all printed in different colors and at different heights.
