Statement

In my geometric sculptures, my aim is to create insights and individual added value - I consider evoked associations and emotions to be just as valuable as analytical studies. Complex works often encourage me to build my own understanding of structures that go beyond the horizontal and vertical planes. Through trial and error, reflection, virtual construction and various production techniques, I want to make the moments that drive me as an artist accessible to others as well. As a designer, I am primarily interested in the material-specific qualities, behavior and effects. I try to create combinations of structure, technique and material that either inspire something new or are simply aesthetically pleasing to look at.

Additional info

The sculpture Stratify consists of 628 individually shaped pieces. The initial body is based on a closed line that evenly traces the surface of a sphere. On the one hand, the layer construction picks up on the organic curves of the overall geometry and on the other hand, it must be shaped with mathematical precision in order to maintain this impression of curved arbitrariness. The construction of the layers is forced - yet they have a great individual variety and complement each other harmoniously. Every part is equally essential. This work is intended to illustrate the behavior of isohypses when changing direction. As the profile is always the same and only the guideline changes direction, there is good comparability.
