Statement
My art is informed by my career as a research analytical chemist. By the 4th grade I wanted to become some kind of scientist or mathematician. In college when I took my first chemistry course I realized my mind's eye could "see" molecules. I was problem solving and working with my hands while in the work force. As technology advanced computers ran the methods I had developed. My art continues these same, still rewarding activities. In addition, as a chemist I enjoy thinking about how the materials I use have their molecules aligned. My sculptures and furniture lift the attention of the viewer to the underlying forms found in Nature or modeled by mathematics.

Now you see it. Now you don’t. Always changing. Never the same.
This chicken wire cat is a cross between Garfield and Bastet the Egyptian cat goddess. Some of the hexagonal, benzene rings have polarizing filters in them. Those hexagonal filters change color and even disappear as you circle the sculpture.
