Statement

My works are different. They may be abstract like pure beauty, or have an organic form. Or they may reside somewhere between the order of the geometric structure and the chaos of folding. Sometimes the mathematical structure is easily visible, sometimes it doesn't exhibit outside, but for sure it exists inside. Sometimes the structure becomes more complex during the construction as spirals create additional polygons. I am sure that without mathematics my works would not exist. For me the mathematics is a way of thinking, a way of seeing the world, a way to understand the universe. l always arrange paper into a mathematical structure with a passion for seeing, understanding, and creating!

The work results from investigation of opportunities given by triangles in the geometry of origami. Thanks to unusual constructions on a triangle, kusudama 12x5+20x3 amalgamates the elegance of the structure of a polyhedron with organic randomness created by hand-made spirals. Compilation of paper shape, polyhedral structure and assembly method effects in vortexes of five, four, three and even two spirals. Can you determine what in the base polyhedra corresponds to a vortex of two spirals?

The work is based on the triangulated Icosidodecahedron. Triangulated pentagon is replaced by a pentagonal macro-module that forms a flower. Multiple medians of two non-parallel lines give a nice curvature of flower petals or a sharp crease, depending on the view direction.
