Statement

My work explores mathematical ideas and structures through digital visualizations and conceptual explorations, from which images emerge and expand within their own universe. I use software—partly developed by me—to generate and explore the images produced by these processes; there I discover evocative details, forms, and textures. My interest arises from my appreciation of the results of this process. As a mathematician, I work with these ideas: I imagine them, live with them, and they surprise me. This surprise is not only technical but also perceptual; it arises from the resonance between mathematics and aesthetics, and the tension in the images between what they show and what they awaken in the mind.

Additional info

Destinos emerges from the singular attractors of three-dimensional vector fields—mathematical objects that hinted at the possibility that mathematics is unpredictable, giving rise to chaos theory. In these works, each line traces the path of an orbit that, guided by an invisible geometry, moves toward its fate. Once in the domain of the attractor, it becomes forever trapped, condemned to follow its form, like a sailor drawn irresistibly to the call of a siren. These are four of the ten works that make up the collection ‘Destinos / Destinies’: Langford Attractor (2025) Dadras–Momeni Attractor (2024) Thelxiepeia: 37,045 destinos (2025) Parthenope: 35,450 destinos (2025)
