Statement

In my free time I create and sew unique mathematical geometrical toys for children 5 years old or older. Together with the mathematical institute of the University in Göttingen, I developed the "Kindergarten Koffer" — a suitcase with different puzzles: 8 mathemagic cubes, 1 Pentomino, 1 Sudoku, the magnetic dodecagon and the Maths Pie. I made many spheres with different tilings on the surface, and edge models from polyhedra. My hobby is sewing stellated polyhedra, quilts and other robust, elastic, haptic and soft toys/puzzles! My circular quilt: "Da staunst Du - 29 Bauklötze!" was shown in Germany during the year of math in 2008. I have enjoyed the bridges conference in Jyväskylä, Waterloo, Stockholm, Linz, Aalto, Halifax and Eindhoven.

Es war eine Mutter, die hatte vier Kinder. Den Frühling, den Sommer, der Herbst und den Winter. Der Frühling bringt Blumen, der Sommer den Klee. Der Herbst der bringt Trauben, der Winter den Schnee. There was a mother who had four children. Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Spring brings flowers, Summer brings clover. Autumn brings grapes, Winter brings snow. I turned a song from my childhood, which I loved to sing with my 3 siblings, into a seasonal cycle quilt. The outer edge is framed with 12 conference symbols. In the middle is a labyrinth that I learned to make at a workshop in Eindhoven. On Family Day 2025, I designed a 2D tessellation: The cat eats the owl. There are also two hidden tessellation shapes for the surface of a sphere.
