Statement
My quilts are inspired primarily by geometry. Although I experimented with various textile techniques, my attention has recently been drawn most to patchwork – not only the traditional kind, but especially various types of tessellations which can be realised in this way. I combine hand and machine sewing.

Inspired by Penrose
49.0 x 49.0 x 1.0 cm
cotton fabric, thread, batting
2026
The quilt draws inspiration from the Penrose rhombus tiling (P3), a pattern created solely from two types of rhombuses. I used fussy cutting on the fabric to highlight the design. The tiles were assembled using the English Paper Piecing technique, which helped me achieve a high level of precision. The quilt was hand-sewn and machine-quilted.

The Sieve of Eratosthenes
52.0 x 52.0 x 1.0 cm
cotton fabric, thread, batting
2026
The quilt displays the sieve of Eratosthenes, an algorithm which helps us find prime numbers lower than 100. Multiples of numbers are in different colours. It is machine-sewn and quilted. I would like to thank Hana Fronova, who brought me inspiration for this quilt.
