Statement
I am Ekaterina Lukasheva, a paper artist working at the intersection of mathematics and origami. My practice centers on modular origami and geometric tessellations, and I am known as a pioneer of curved origami structures created from flat sheets of paper. With a background in mathematics, I approach paper folding as both an artistic and structural exploration of form. I am the author of five books on modular origami and origami tessellations, sharing innovative techniques and new geometric designs with folders around the world.

This tessellation explores the interplay between spirals and hyperbolic geometry. It is based on the regular heptagonal tiling {7,3} of the hyperbolic plane. Because this tiling cannot exist in the Euclidean plane, it is shown through a projection from hyperbolic space, producing the characteristic shrinking of tiles toward the boundary.
