Statement
1. In recent years, my paintings have been creating different playful arrangements of a single found wooden wedge element. Wittgenstein says that words have no meaning, only word usage. Wooden wedges have no meaning, but they appear in different ways, in different structures. 2. In my paintings included in the catalog, the translational symmetry of the trapezoidal shape of the repeating wooden wedge element is most apparent, creating a net-like form.

The paintings show a network of congruent trapezoidal elements. The structure is built up of element connections created by translational symmetry, mirror symmetry, and central reflection, creating the effect of a carpet or a woven fabric.
