Desconstrucció d'un dodecàedre (Deconstruction of a dodecahedron)
24.0 x 50.0 x 25.0 cm
Ironwood and birch
2026
This is a handcrafted piece created with the assistance of a CNC router. It features the dissection of a dodecahedron's surface into two equal parts, achieved by following a Hamiltonian path through its vertices. Consequently, both halves retain all the vertices of the original dodecahedron. Although the two parts are presented separately, the dodecahedron can be fully reconstructed.
The work is inspired by the Yin and Yang of Chinese philosophy: the universe is divided into two symmetrical, opposite, and complementary halves, each containing a fragment of the other within it.
