Statement
In my work, I do not seek to create complexity; I seek to discover it. This piece explores algorithmic growth, where a single geometric "seed" unfolds within a controlled environment. By allowing the internal logic of an invisible cube to govern a single wavy ring, the sculpture emerges as a natural consequence of its own rules. My role is that of a facilitator—capturing patterns that appear from specific perspectives and re-integrating them into the three-dimensional form. This reveals a fundamental truth: symmetry begets symmetry. What appears as an intricate, decorated surface is the inevitable conclusion of one simple, repeated rule.

Symmetry Begets Symmetry

This work shows how a single shape can generate a complex world. At the center stands the parent sculpture: twelve orange wavy rings aligned with the edges of an invisible cube. Three white projections reveal patterns along the cube’s primary symmetry axes—four-fold through faces, two-fold through edges, and three-fold through corners. These planar motifs wrap back onto the cube as textured skin, while a truncated dodecahedron carries twenty hexagonal variations. From one ring to projections and back to surface, symmetry unfolds into an intricate whole.
