This work is a reproduction of an original work by Frank van Kollem. He used smaller paper, his end result was about 10 cm, while this one is 14 cm.
Frank van Kollem is part of the history of Tessellation folding.
He was born in 1950 and died young in 1997. He folded more than 100 tessellations between 1966 and 1997.
The main characteristics of most of his work are:
- The use of white paper, size 15 x 15 cm
- Division of the paper in a grid of 32 or 64, also diagonally
His mother gave the collection of Franks' work to the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, National Library of the Netherlands in The Hague. There it will be preserved in a good environment.
My wish is that his work will be more widely known in the international community.
