Part of Many Faces: One Light, a Kansas City community MathArt exhibition in which more than 400 participants create illuminated convex polyhedra from golden rhombi, Corazón is a collaborative work by Zdeňka Guadarrama and Socorro Reyes Ramirez. Created as a Bilinski dodecahedron, it combines laser-cut cardboard, translucent stained-glass-like inserts, paint, and light. The piece evokes a luminous, lacquer-like richness, with organic lines creating continuity between the geometry and the symbolic patterns of the design. Reyes Ramirez’s painting responds to cut patterns designed by Guadarrama, while hearts, hummingbirds, flowers, and serpentine motifs connect the geometry to vitality, transformation, and encounter.
