Artists
Statement
I majored in math as an undergrad and I'm currently a PhD student researching human–AI musical co-creativity. While my current research focuses on music, I have also been a lifelong visual artist drawn to mathematical beauty and the ways structure and pattern emerge across different fields. I began making math art in middle school, inspired by geometry and early encounters with topology through popular science books. During undergrad years, my research experiences in graph theory and knot theory further expanded the mathematical concepts that inform my artwork. My practice today is primarily digital, but I intentionally preserve hand-drawn textures to retain a sense of physical gesture.
